OUR SICK

Please remember these Christians when you pray–
Debbie Helms who finished one cancer drug and was to begin another by IV in July; Edwin Morris continues on a respirator and in a weakened state; Jill Kania who recently lost a baby; Jared, James, and Jackson Hensley (new triplets) who have been struggling to survive and mom, Nancey who had difficulties with delivery; Kent Walls who lost his grandmother, Polly Vance, recently; Johnnie Chancellor who recently had knee replacement surgery; John Briery who underwent knee surgery; Elmer Stamper who has multiple health problems and can hardly walk; Sherry (Sharp) Derr who is weak after five bypasses and may have to have a defibrillator; Steven Hutchison who is recovering from his 4th heart surgery during his life but has another hole in his heart and faces another operation; Cheryl Kees who was hospitalized recently due to stress; Ayna Moore who recently suffered a mini-stroke; J. W. Kornegay and Verlie Kornegay who are both in very poor health; Charles Hurst who must undergo daily dialysis, and is determined to walk on his prostheses; Patti Whigham who is on dialysis and is awaiting a kidney transplant; Sherry Knight who suffers with serious health problems; Dave Traylor who continues suffering health problems; Richard Nichols who had a coated stint inserted into one of the blood vessels used in his quadruple bypass surgery in February 2006; Don Pruitt who has arrythmia is to have a pacemaker/defibrilltor implanted sometime Monday; Della Huffman who may now be receiving the correct treatment for her serious illness; Wilma Jean Nichols who seems to be making a little progress in a long struggle after her stroke was at two worship services lately. Others are sick– please pray for them as well. Please don’t forget the elderly Christians when you praying.

OUR DEPARTED LOVED ONES

We are saddened to learn of our brothers and sisters who have gone away. Nevertheless, the Lord calls it "blessed" and a "rest from their labors."

Brother Rex Coon a dear member of the Lord’s church went to be with the Lord on the morning of June 9th 2008 after a long illness. He was a part of the Midway congregation in Shreveport, Louisiana. His wife passed away a little over a year ago. Please pray for family and church members who mourn our brother’s passing.

Sister Evelyn Holt of Waco, Texas passed from this life on Lord’s day, May 25, 2008 at the age of 91. She was at her daughter’s home surrounded by her family. She labored in the Lord’s vineyard for over 80 years; she was the widow of Cyrus Holt. Sister Evelyn was a member of the Monte Vista congregation. Please remember all her family and the congregation who mourns her passing when you speak to the Lord.

Sister Ivy M. Smith of Brookhaven, Mississippi passed away May 27, 2008 at the age of 92. She was a member of the Hillcrest church of Christ for many years. Sister Ivy was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Smith, several years ago. She is mourned by many family members and the brothers and sisters with whom she worshiped for so many years.

Brother Earnest Montgomery of the Hillcrest church of Christ at Brookhaven, Mississippi passed away recently. Many will remember brother Earnest as one of the elders of the congregation for a number of years. His wife, Mildred, preceded him in death recently. Our prayers go up to the Father for his daughter, Elaine and all who mourn his passing.

Sister Ruth Schoen of San Antonio, Texas left this life on Saturday, April 26, 2008. She had lost her husband, Lester Schoen, some time ago, however many will remember that she and Lester were diligent servants in the Lord’s church for several decades, helping many people and assisting the congregations in the area. “Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them.”
