OUR PASSING LOVED ONES
~~LOUIE COSTA~~
Brother Louie Costa of Oakdale, California passed from this life Saturday
morning, February 21, 2009. Brother Louie was a faithful member of the Lord’s
church for many years. We are told that "Our Heavenly Father" did grant him "a
peaceful hour in which do die" which was just as he asked in his public prayers.
May the Lord now comfort his wife of 65 years, Leona Costa and his sons, Bill,
Myron and Ivan and his daughters Barbara Cole, Louise Boek, Mary Alice Hodge,
and Cynthia Tidmore. We pray the blessings of the Father upon all who grieve the
passing of our brother Louie.
~~ROY BILL MODGLING~~
Brother Roy Bill Modgling of Modesto, California has passed away. For the last
few years he had been a member of the Ceres congregation. For many years he and
Alyine were part of the backbone of the congregation at Orange in Southern
California. He is survived by his wife, Alyine (Smith) Modgling, his brother,
T.L., his son, Karl and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his
parents, Tom and Sarah Modgling, and one son, John Modgling, a preacher of the
gospel. Our prayers go up to the Father in Heaven for the family and our hearts
reflect with fond memories of this kind man and his good sense of humor.
~~JESSIE NORTON~~
Sister Jessie Norton of Mansfield, Texas passed from this life in the morning of
Thursday, March 12, 2009 at the age of 99. Due to failing health sister Jessie
had not been able to attend worship since the middle of last year. She had been
a faithful Christian since obeying the gospel in her youth, making this a
beautifully long life in service to her Master. She is survived by her son, Joe
Norton and his family. May all who grieve the passing of sister Jessie be
comforted by the promises of the Lord.
~~FRANCES HOGLAND~~
Sister Frances Hogland of Harrison, Arkansas left this life on Thursday, March
5, 2009. For many years brother Virgil and sister Frances were mainstays in the
85th and Euclid congregation in Kansas City, Missouri. Their home was open to
many visitors through the years; all felt a warm welcome from this kind and
hospitable Christian couple. May the Lord bless Virgil, their family and all
those who miss this good sister. In Christ we look for a brighter day.

New Congregation Announcement
North Texas Church of Christ
1709 Colony Drive
Irving, TX 75061
&nbs p; March 4, 2009
We, of the North Texas Church of Christ, are pleased to announce the
establishment of a new congregation in Irving, Texas. The desire for a
congregation in this area was first discussed about two and a half years ago. On
February 1, 2009, after many months of thought and prayers, the first worship
service took place. We are a few in number (12 to 15), but are excited about the
possibilities of sharing God’s Word with people in this city with a population
of about 200,000.
We are presently worshiping in the home of Mark and Janice Bailey; however, we
are hoping, Lord willing, to move into a public building in the near future. Due
to the interest and work of some members of our congregation we have been
blessed with visitors at every service through the month of February. We have
also had promises of several others from the community to worship with us.
As a congregation, we appreciate the encouragement and support of our previous
home congregation, The Church of Christ in Grapevine. They are a wonderful
congregation filled with peace and unity and with the desire for God’s Word to
be spread.
Please remember us when you pray, as we reach out to save the lost. We look
forward to any opportunity that you may have to visit and worship with us.
Please do not hesitate to call or email if you have any questions or need
directions to our place of worship.
